I tried to give RR3 a second chance, and it seems like they’ve really toned down the BS artificial limits intended to get you to fork over real cash (when it first came out, I hit the pay wall after two races, but this time it seemed way more forgiving) , but I still can’t get into freemium racing games with BS timers and desirable cars I can’t afford.
My actually life has enough waiting for my car to be repaired and lusting over cars I’ll never be able to afford. I don’t need a game for that.
I’m also exceptionally bitter because I still play RR2 and think it’s the best mobile racing game ever. They could have just released a sequel ever year for $10 and I’d gladly have given them all my money.
ETA: it’s still incomparably better than all of those BS Need for Speed freemium game that keep getting churned out.
ETA 2: On a related note Pixel Car Racing can go fuck itself hard for that last stupid update.

I actually thought that the expansions after the Le Mans: GTE expansion (Lotus and Jaguar) were high-water marks for the game. Reasonably-priced cars with solid driving feel and running costs (upgrades and servicing) that are easy to live with. Plus I don’t totally crunch my play time here, so I don’t mind wait times, and I choose my battles (don’t blow your load on the more powerful cars) in the special events.
What I am waiting for, really, is an expansion that comes with the ‘16 Viper ACR. That car I would willlingly blow my load on to have.

That probably was my problem. I mostly played mobile games when I had an hour to kill on the train during my commute, and there’s nothing worse than having a hour of nothing to do and then hitting an artificial wait time.
